Designed to Perform:
Down Fill: Down fill is nature’s ultimate insulator, used in premium jackets to keep you warm without weighing you down. It’s made from the soft, fluffy clusters found beneath the feathers of ducks or geese. How does it work day-to-day? These clusters trap air, creating pockets that hold warmth close to your body, making down incredibly effective at keeping out the cold.
What’s Fill Power? Fill power is the key measure of down’s quality and warmth. It tells you how much space one ounce of down occupies when fully lofted. The higher the fill power, the more air it traps - and the warmer, lighter and more compressible the jacket will be. For example, a fill power of 700 (like in the Nimbus Puffer) means the down is high quality, offering excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and packability.
Levels of Down Fill:
