Describe yourself in three words?
Smiley, positive and kind.
3 tips for staying balanced?
1. Be your biggest cheerleader, beating yourself up never helps.
2. Schedule in down time as well as workouts.
3. Keep your phone out of your bedroom – get an alarm clock!
What’s been your biggest wow moment to date?
Having my little boy, it’s has been the most amazing experience so far being a Mum.
What does a typical day look like to you?
Sadly there is nothing typical about it, my son is my alarm clock, so I make him a bottle of milk and we will cuddle on the couch and play with his toys. I’ll have a glass of water then get him dressed and ready for nursery.
Post drop off I like to do a workout at Barrecore or The Power Yoga Company before starting work. This could be at home recipe developing or in town having meetings or on a shoot. I usually finish work around 5, fetch Shay and make dinner before watching TV or more work after his bedtime. I start winding down and turning off electronics around 9pm so I can read and wind down.
Why did you create the Happy Gut Guide?
We created HGG as at the moment if you are diagnosed with IBS you may just get a leaflet on it with no guidance. 1 in 7 people have IBS and as someone who has suffered with it I know how hard it can be. We want to help women and men be bloat free for life! We wanted to create something in the middle which hand held you through managing your IBS.
When do you feel best in yourself?
After a good night’s sleep with my family!
What does female empowerment mean to you?
To be able to be myself and not to explain or answer a hundred questions of how I got here. To be accepted for the person I am and the gift I bring to life.
Non-negotiable health habit?
Chewing my food. This is what stops me from being bloated all the time. If I just take a little longer eating, chewing and taking a moment between each bite, I feel much less bloated.
What does female empowerment mean to you?
Feeling equal, feeling empowered by your uniqueness and supporting other women along the way.
What would you say to your younger self?
Being thin isn’t everything, be kind to everyone you meet and enjoy life it’s fun!
Favourite workout?
Yoga.
Life mantra?
Don’t look for happiness, create it.
Favourite workout song?
Anything by Beyoncé.
Guilty pleasure?
Croissants with extra jam, I can’t resist.
