what is so "eco friendly" about this mat, exactly?
TPE is a very common material out of which yoga mats are made. Many cheaper mats are made of TPE. Sweaty B say this mat is "eco friendly" and there is no legal requirement attached to this label. But how eco friendly is it really?? TPE stands for Thermoplastic elastomers - which is a mix of polymers (plastics). At this price point, there are better eco options.

Its a really really good mat !
Ain't got massive experience with mats, but this one is so good even for HIIT session ! doesn't slip, doesn't stretch, stays in place ;)

Great Entry Point Mat
I really like my new Eco Yoga Mat, it's a great entry price for a basic yoga mat. It's grippy and has a good level of cushioning. #teamsweatybetty

Poor quality
Bought this as wanted to ensure that the mats I buy are eco friendly.. only the quality simply doesn’t match up to the quality of the other ethical mats on the market. It isn’t a nice feeling and is quite slippery when you get sweaty. Not easy to clean and the grip has worn out very very quickly.

Supportive Mat
I bought this abs waited patiently for the June bug colour which is lovely and glad I waited! I’m a beginner to yoga and have been hesitant to finally start due to bad knees but the mat is thicker than others I’ve come across and find it comfortable to use. In terms of grip I can’t compare to other mats as I haven’t owned one but I can get through an hour of a sweaty session with minimal slipping (maybe a little towards the end after a few downward facing dogs). There was a smell to the mat (kind of rubbery) but it disappeared after a couple of uses. My package arrived without any dents as I notice a few other reviews mentioning this.
Giving it 5/5 stars based on my experience of it making my introduction to yoga more enjoyable and comfortable and the grip is good enough for me.
Still not sure I’m brave enough for an in-person class if they ever exist again though!

Best cushioned mat - great for Pilates
This mat is thicker than a yoga mat which make it perfect for Pilates where you want more cushioning for your spine, knees etc. Excellent grip as well. I love the June bug green colour.

The Eco Yoga Mat does contain naturally occurring latex, which is formed during the vulcanization process (making of) the mat. We would advise if anyone experiences sensitivity with latex ordinarily to avoid this product also.
