As the Technology Manager you will responsible for maintaining and improving our IT structure for the entire business. You will work directly with outsourced IT support companies and key internal stakeholders to design innovative solutions that drive the business forward and shape the direction of our IT policy.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for implementing key IT projects and managing outsourced providers in ongoing IT support for the company. In your first year, the focus will be on several exciting and high profile projects including project managing key updates to Sweaty Betty’s retail system and documenting company-wide disaster recovery procedures.
Specific responsibilities include:
Strategy & Policy

  • Owning the company’s IT strategy and establishing infrastructure for a rapidly growing business in both the UK and US
  • Managing the company’s Data Protection policy, evaluating the key IT risks semi-annually, and implementing controls to reduce risk
  • Developing and maintaining company-wide disaster recovery procedures

Project Management

  • Project managing key IT projects including implementing fundamental system-wide changes to the retail IT system, rolling out a virtual private LAN service (VPLS) to all stores, equipping all stores with a mobile till solution, and implementing a new payment solution across all channels

Support and Administration

  • Managing two outsourced IT support teams and acting as the liaison between the business and the suppliers
  • Acting as first point of contact for Support Office IT issues, including resolving basic user IT issues, logging advanced issues with the support team and managing remote access rights for office users
  • Acting as the system administrator and “super-user” for retail IT system
  • Overseeing IT equipment procurement and replacement

Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, including IT project management and support
Strong IT project management background, with strengths in managing functional system implementations and business process re-engineering initiatives
Experience providing IT helpdesk style support and assisting others in resolving IT issues
Skilled in creating and reviewing system documentation such as data flow maps, requirements documentation, and design specifications
Natural authority and comfort communicating and working with all levels within the business
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Ability to balance the demands that arise from a varied role that includes project management, system documentation, and support responsibilities
