From the downward dog test to the dive into the pool trials, each new season we recruit experts to test garments and ensure they're durable, functional and performance-enhancing./product-testing-artltesting/?slider=6/product-testing-artltesting/?slider=2
Swimwear that can withstand any test in the water.
More lengths, more dives, more feedback, more notes. This is the life of a Garment Tech and this is how Sweaty Betty ensures swimwear fits perfectly and performs to the highest level.
Garment technologist Fiona assembled a group and instructed them on what to do. The trial began…dive after dive, lap after lap, minute after mintue, the team critiqued the products to the smallest detail.
We believe in being transparent, except when it comes to our leggings.
what we wanted: completely opaque leggings
what we got:
“Our yogi flows through inversions, twists, binds and balancing postures like crow to arrive in ardho muka savasana, or Downward Dog. The result is 100% coverage without sacrificing comfort: the interlocked construction creates our softest hand feel and best fit ever,” says Charlotte, yoga buyer and qualified yoga instructor.
In the SS14 collection, we've used our revolutionary, completely opaque fabric in four yoga bottoms: the Vinyasa Capris, Om Pants, Dynamic Leggings and the Chandrasana leggings, which have all been put to the Downward Dog test.
Durable kit that survives the muddy puddle and keeps you warm and dry, whatever the weather.
Our athletes get muddy, very muddy – boot-camp-in-the-park-after-a-thunderstorm-muddy! After a regiment's worth of press-ups, burpees, crunches, sprints, jumping jacks and squats, we check if our triallers are warm and dry. If they are, the kit passes the Muddy Puddle Test.
Weatherproof kit that washes easily. Bring on boot camp...
For a dancer lowering into the splits or doing a split-leap in mid-air, ending up with torn bottoms is not an option.
First Artist, Nancy Osbaldeston of the English National Ballet pushed the new line of dancewear to the limit. Putting the range through its (very graceful) paces, the test included splits against the wall, in the air, on the ground, upside down and inside out; stretching the fabric every way possible to ensure it neither rips nor restricts her movement.
The ultimate dance kit that withstood Nancy's splits test, allowing for freedom of movement and style.
the dream: full-coverage camis
Our yogawear tests don't stop at opaque leggings and Downward Dog: we know it is equally important to be covered on top as well as on the bottom. That's where the Chaturanga Test comes in.
With the product team observing, our yogi goes though chaturanga to Urdhva Muko Savasanah, or upward facing dog. If the high neckline stays fitted and secure, they pass the test.
