Meet Matt Roberts

The SB Guest Instructor at 125 Kings Road stepped it up in April 2012 as we welcomed Personal Trainer to the stars (he counts Naomi Campbell and Tom Ford as friends) and former International Sprinter, Matt Roberts into the fold.

Matt headed to our Kings Road boutique to host a specialist session on running, with tips that promised to get help get the body into ‘red carpet’ shape in the shortest of time frames. The event was ideal for runners of all levels, whether preparing for a first 5km or trying to shave time off a personal best.

We grabbed five mins with Matt for a quick Q&A...

Q: Personal training, how did you get started and why?
A: I started my personal training business about 17 years ago because I saw an opportunity to provide one to one training and lifestyle advice within a premium fitness environment – it was a first of its kind. I wanted to emulate the feeling of top hotels and restaurants and give our clients an experience that matched the other services they used.

Q: What is your proudest sporting achievement?
A: Sprinting at an international level with some of the great names in running!
Q: What is your goal for the future?
A: To show people how they can stay fit and healthy – it is getting started that is the hard bit!

Q: How do you stay motivated to train?
A: I generally enjoy training but I work with and train some very inspiring people who keep me motivated!

Q: What is your favourite thing about London?
A: There is something to please everyone no matter what time of day it is.

Q:What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
A: Experience has taught me to never give up!
