One of the more physically demanding competitions, a triathlon is a multi-discipline endurance race of back-to-back swimming, cycling and running. Distances range from the super-sprint (400m swim, 20K bike, 5K run) to the toughest Ironman distance of 3.86K swim, 180K bike and marathon run. Triathlons can take place in varied locations across the world, from city to desert, pool to open water, track to cross-country.

what to look for

The perfect kit for a triathlon can transition from swim to bike to run with ease. Each discipline requires something slightly different – from streamlined suits for swimming, padded shorts for cycling and bust support for running. A dedicated triathlon suit can meet your needs across all three legs.

Anti-fog goggles ensure good visibility, enabling you to keep your eyes on the buoys guiding you to the finish line.

Bottoms with padded seat panels are recommended for the bike leg.

A high-impact sports bra that will dry quickly post-swim and keep you comfortably supported through the run leg.

Sweat-wicking and quick-drying fabrics across tops and bottoms will keep you cool and comfortable until you cross the finish line post-run.

Blister-resistant socks will reduce any painful distractions during the race.

The obvious (but often forgotten) essentials such as lightweight and quick-drying trainers, and a cap to deflect the sun during sprints.

Tri-suits – For the seasoned triathlete, a tri-suit is recommended. High-stretch, supportive, quick-drying and durable, with a built-in bra and padded seat.
