    • Maria

An alumni of the prestigious London School of Musical Theatre, Maria went onto garner a highly successful dance career that saw her dancing alongside top names in the music industry, in TV commercials, on fashion catwalks and in theatre tours. After twelve years onstage, it was time for a change. With her love of dance and fitness as the perfect fit for top London studio Barrecore, she completed their instructor training, quickly developing a passion for the unique fusion workouts of dance and Pilates that use creative choreography to transform clients’ bodies; empowering women to feel graceful. Also passionate about nutrition and its benefits for enhancing training, Maria furthered her skills with a cutting-edge nutrition and wellness certification, qualifying as a BarreNOURISH practitioner. When not splitting her time between nutrition clients, personal training and teaching Barrecore classes, Maria can be found taking her training outdoors with runs in Battersea Park.

My career in fitness started with a job in Switzerland working for the International Olympic Committee. It was an amazing time in my life – I was traveling around the world, meeting incredible people and attending fantastic events. However, I was struggling to keep up. To regain control, I started replacing workouts for red wine; green smoothies for room service. I became a fitness class enthusiast and tried everything from kickboxing to trampolining, but it was Pilates that stuck the most because it was gentle on my body and everyone commented on the difference to my physique. When I moved to London for a job preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games, I found a local Pilates studio offering a teacher training programme, and I immediately signed up because I couldn’t wait to share the benefits of the practice.
