Like many Pilates teachers, I started out as a dancer. I studied dance from a young age and took up Pilates as a teenager after suffering with hyper mobility. At university I cemented my love of the exercise when I studied its benefits on dancers for my dissertation. After graduating, I had to share the advantages of this method of movement, so started my training at Body Control Pilates in London.
I started Brighton Pilates in 2008 and currently teach between 80 and 100 people a week. My favourite type of Pilates is Classical Matwork, a challenging sequence that I find so rewarding to teach. I have more recently set up My Escape, a company which runs high-end Yoga and Pilates holidays to Morocco, South Africa, Ibiza and more.
Alongside Pilates I love a fitness challenge, I have competed Tough Mudder and recently ran a half marathon in under two hours.

Next Big Challenge: Brighton Marathon
I fell in love with running in my 30's whilst training for the London Marathon. This left me hungry for more and after completing my first ‘Try a Tri’, I went on to race in all distances from sprint, to Olympic to full Ironman in the UK and Sweden. I have recently qualified for the European Championships in my age group.
Triathlon defines my lifestyle and I currently coach at Brighton Triathlon Club twice a week. I love teaching people to swim, the learning curve is steep and it’s so rewarding to see someone improve.
Alongside training and teaching, I work full time as a Firefighter and part time as a Sports Therapist. In my spare time I love to travel, and am inspired by the cultures of India and Nepal.
I believe ‘Strong Is The New Sexy,’ and want to encourage young girls that sports is the way forward, and they can look great whilst doing it!
