Meet the models: Sweaty Betty in Iceland

posted on Monday, 18th July 2016 | find under Behind the Scenes
Chosen for their Scandi look and cool attitude, models Ragnhild Jevne and Ilse de Boer are roommates who have travelled the world together. From Norway and The Netherlands respectively, Ragnhild was spotted in her hometown, while Ilse was discovered by a modelling scout in the audience at her cousin’s fashion presentation. Now living together in New York, we caught up with them to find out their highlights from the AW16 shoot and more.

Favourite place you visited in Iceland?

R: Rather than just one place, what really stood out to me was watching the landscape change as we drove around.

I: Vatnajökull, the oldest and largest glacier in Iceland was beautiful.

Fondest memory of the shoot?

R: All the incredible nature, it gave me strength when we were shooting in the cold.

I: We saw some husky puppies on the last day, they were adorable.

Standout piece from the new collection?

R: The all-in-one Makarasana leotard, I felt like a ninja.

I: An oversized hoodie (Assemble Hoody) with a Luxe Bucket Bag and grey tee was a great street style look.

Fire or ice?

R: Fire, even if people assume I am ice. Maybe a mix of both to be balanced.

I: Fire. I have five older brothers so I’m tougher than I look.

What do you like to do when you’re not modelling?

R: I have a BA in Industrial Design and work part-time as a graphic designer.

I: I spend my free-time volunteering in a home care facility for the elderly battling Alzheimer’s.

Where do you like to workout?

R: Sal Anthony's Movement Salon in NYC, I love Nwando’s Pilates classes.

I: Body Evolutions in NYC makes me feel energised and strong.

What is your guilty vice?

R: Red wine and snacks.

I: Chocolate.

Dream holiday destination?

R: The Galapagos Islands to explore the marine reserves.

I: Climbing the Inca Trail in Peru or a yoga retreat in Bali.

Life mantra?

R: Positive everything, negative nothing.

I: No matter what, do not complain.
