The secret to a model body? modelFIT, the top New York and Los Angeles studio that focuses on smaller and slower movements to tone the body. This January Sweaty Betty have teamed up with modelFIT's co-founder Vanessa Packer for an exclusive collaboration - two exclusive workouts and a limited edition capsule collection. To celebrate the launch of #SBxmodelFIT, we caught up with Vanessa to talk modelFIT, nutrition and New Year's resolutions.

Describe modelFIT in three words?
Innovative, Effective, Beautiful.
What inspired you to open the modelFIT studio?
I felt there was a void in the boutique fitness space for a workout and studio that brought together a functional approach to sculpting the body in an effective and innovative way in a beautiful space.
What are the benefits of the signature modelFIT workout?
We work the small muscles that matter most to build strength and a elongated, lean body. Our clients often see the changes as quickly as three classes in. Also, because the method is rooted in Applied Functional Science, and all our trainers are certified through the Gray Institute, there’s no worry for injury or strain on your body or muscles.
How many times a week would you recommend working out?
I believe it’s important to sweat everyday. Though, I think for everyone it’s different, so we encourage each of our clients to do what feels right for them.
Tell us about the exclusive collaboration?
I’m so proud to be collaborating with Sweaty Betty. We first started working together during the first year modelFIT was open, and our relationship has grown ever since. Working with the design team was such a fruitful and effortless collaboration. They really allowed for the modelFIT aesthetic to come through in the collaboration, and I’m really proud of what we were able to create together.
What was your inspiration behind the print?
Two of my favorite cities, my home of New York and beautiful London. The lights and sparkle both cities embody, not only in the actual lights that make the city glow, but the culture and energy of the people there. There is a special energy I feel when I’m in both that I wanted to come through in the print - vibrant, effervescent, and happy.
Your number one wellness tip?
Drink Water - it’s so important to stay hydrated.
What advice would you have for anyone trying to be healthier?
Make small changes to start, don’t try to overhaul your whole routine and life in one go. Sustainable change is made with the small changes we can manage and hold onto over time. If you can create a healthy foundation and build from there you’ll be in good shape.
Do you have a New Year’s resolution this January?
I don’t usually make resolutions, I like to set an intention to guide the year. I’m working on one for 2017. In terms of resolutions, I’d like to get more sleep.
Three burning questions
Describe your morning routine?
I try to begin each day with warm water and lemon to boost my metabolism and get my body ready for the day. I like to workout in the morning, so I’m usually at that 7am modelFIT class in New York or Los Angeles, where we just opened a studio. I drink a lot of water in the morning, before I have my one iced cold brew coffee of the day - black and tall. I then usually have a green smoothie, or a pitaya smoothie bowl with granola. I like to listen to my body and adjust depending on what I’m craving.
Your failsafe workout?
What five items would we always find in your fridge?
Lemons, fresh ginger, baby spinach or kale, grapes and coconut water.
