For over a decade, the British fitness line Sweaty Betty has been sold almost exclusively on its home turf. This fall, the collection — favored by fit and fabulous stars like Victoria Beckham, Elle Macpherson, Julianne Moore and Amber Valletta — arrives stateside for the first time via quarterly catalogs and its new Web address, sweatybetty.com. The brand’s co-founder, Tamara Hill-Norton, said she had always dreamed of expanding to the United States. “In the U.K., exercising is still often seen as a chore,” says Hill-Norton, who started the company with her husband, Simon, in 1997. “In the U.S., people push the boundaries and look for exciting new ways to keep it fresh.” So now we Yankees can sweat in style with black and white printed pants — “In the Hamptons, everyone seemed to love them” — or a killer kickboxing number (as seen here on the model Flaviana Matata).
