Sweaty Betty’s Insider Guide to Farnham

posted on Friday, 25th September 2015 | find under Travel, Behind the Scenes

Today Sweaty Betty is proud to open its new boutique in picturesque Farnham, located on the quaint cobbled street of Lion and Lamb Yard, surrounded by Grade II listed buildings and on the doorstep of the awe-inspiring Farnham Castle. Nearby friends in fashion include Whistles, Mint Velvet and Jigsaw, while charming venues in fitness and food keep locals inspired to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. Here Sweaty Betty shares some of our favourite haunts from our many months spent preparing for the opening of our beautiful new boutique. The perfect active day out looks a little something like this…

Eat and drink…

Caracoli – Part coffee shop, part healthy food store, Caracoli is a popular place to enjoy a time out over a steaming organic latte or get meal inspiration from the shop’s carefully curated ingredients.

Côte - Mediterranean flavours in a charming British setting on Lion and Lamb Way. Call in advance to book a spot of lunch after a class or a morning of shopping – tables quickly fill up on weekends.

Bill's - Breakfast is always a special occasion at Bill’s, where locally sourced food and a light airy atmosphere are guaranteed to bring joy to your morning.

Brasserie Blanc - The ethos at Brasserie Blanc is ‘simple food done well’, with an effortless French café inspired combination of elegance and informality. A firm favourite with Farnham locals, day and night.

Work out…

The Pilates Suite – Sweaty Betty Ambassador Kirsten Harle has a loyal following at her Pilates, barre and yoga studio in nearby Wrecclesham, and Sweaty Betty is very proud to host her brand new in-store studio for express 30 minute classes by Kirsten and her team. Unique to the Sweaty Betty studio, there will be specially created Springboard classes and intense BarreConcept programmes designed to fuse body sculpting and dynamic stretch.

The Wellbeing Space – Team SB are so impressed with The Wellbeing Space in central Farnham, we want to share the experience with you. That’s why you’re invited for a special opening weekend Sweaty Betty takeover tomorrow, Saturday 26 September, at the 4pm Pilates class with Elisabeth Bradbury. Book through the studio and you’ll get a free class, plus a Sweaty Betty goodie bag to take away.

Jo Evans PT & Spin – Another newly selected Sweaty Betty Ambassador, Jo Evans runs popular spin classes from her home studio, and they are always fully booked. Which explains why Sweaty Betty’s takeover class on Thursday 24 September sold out in minutes. Best book your bike well in advance.

Adventure outdoors…

With close-knit and dedicated community clubs for Farnham Runners and Farnham Triathletes, it’s clear the locals love to get their exercise fix outdoors. And who could blame them? With 320 acres of beautiful grounds in Farnham Park, stunning run trails through Alice Hold Forest and miles of cycle paths through Frensham Ponds, Farnham is a nature lover’s paradise.

Wind down…

Four Seasons Spa Hampshire – The ultimate destination for recreation and relaxation, members at the Four Seasons Spa in nearby Dogmersfield can take full advantage of on-site tennis, horse riding, indoor and outdoor pools plus spa treatments within a tranquil Georgian manor house. Weekend retreats sorted.

Shop the new season at Sweaty Betty Farnham today and come explore our new boutique and in-store studio. You’ll find us on 8 West Street. For more information, click here.
