A picturesque location in the old Victorian railway station, the new store sits just a stone's throw from Windsor castle, full of workout wear as beautiful as the setting.

Here, the Roadshow team share their top picks of where to eat, drink and workout - perfect for any visitor to the area.

Eat & Drink

The Roadshow team were so excited to discover the hidden treasure that is Gogo's, at the Windsor Racecourse Marina. Located right on the waterfront, it's the perfect location to sit back and relax with a cocktail in hand; enjoying some nibbles and the stunning views while soaking up the atmosphere.

After a jog around Windsor Great Park, stop by The Fox and Hound - a fabulous country pub that is perfect for lunch or coffee. Located just down from the Bishopsgate entrance to the Park, it's equally ideal after a hack around the Park - you can enjoy refreshments while the horses make the most of the hay bales and buckets of water.

Windsor also has lots to offer in terms of tea shops, located around the castle and offering traditional English breakfast teas and scones - perfectly British, just like Sweaty Betty!

Do Pilates

Powmak Pilates on the Marina is the ultimate choice for Reformer Pilates. Every session is varied and challenging, the instructors are knowledgeable and every exercise is adapted for the individual's needs. Overlooking the river, it's a beautiful setting for a workout!

Practice Yoga

Yoga for Harmony is a peaceful, tranquil studio offering many different types of yoga, from Vinyasa and Kundalini to Hatha and Pre-natal. The light and airy studio has a heated floor; perfect for relaxing in savasana post-class.

Go Running

There are many beautiful open spaces to run in Windsor. The Roadshow team's favourite routes involved running past the stunning lakes and through the open spaces of Saville Garden and Virginia Water. Alternatively, run the full length of the Long Walk in Windsor Great Park - and keep an eye out for the deer!

Workout

There is a lot to offer outside of Windsor itself. Ascot has a great gym with a hot yoga studio called The Fitness Space as well as beautiful hotels with fantastic health and fitness facilities, such as Wentworth and Runnymeade. Personal trainers and classes can be held from the comfort of home, as well as outside in the parks. For those with little time who want a quick fitness blast, head to Strong Vibes for a Powerplate class.

Upper West Side, NYC - Sweaty Betty is here! /blog/upper-west-side-nyc-sweaty-betty-is-here-1250/ /blog/upper-west-side-nyc-sweaty-betty-is-here-1250/#comments Tue, 15 Apr 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/upper-west-side-nyc-sweaty-betty-is-here-1250/ Spring is not the only thing in bloom this April, as the Sweaty Betty Roadshow has sprouted up on the Upper West Side of New York City. Only two days in, we are already overwhelmed by the choice of fabulous retail finds, delectable treats, and of course, the must-try fitness classes.

Over the next four weeks, our jam-packed schedule will have us hitting the ground (and Central Park) running with an array of workout combinations including spinning at Soul Cycle, stretching at Naam Yoga and taking in the fresh air with a bike ride up the Hudson River - with our end goal being a “Supa Dupa Greens” juice at Juice Generation.

Our first few days will see us mainly on the mat as we take in the many practices at Pure Yoga. Keep a lookout for us next to you on the bike, on the mat or in the crowd at Shakespeare in the Park! Check the Roadshow schedule frequently to find out where we'll be working out and giving out goodie bags.

Upper East Side - We'll See You Soon! /blog/upper-east-side-well-see-you-soon/ /blog/upper-east-side-well-see-you-soon/#comments Wed, 09 Apr 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/upper-east-side-well-see-you-soon/ After a chilly month in the Upper East Side, the weather is finally warming up here in New York City, just as we're rolling up our yoga mats and preparing for a sad departure.

We want to give a big thank you to our unforgiving HIIT instructors, zenned-out yogis, and for the endless retail therapy that left us more toned, more relaxed, and definitely more stylish.

We were thankful to have witnessed the Upper East Side during the coldest of times, but always made sure to take advantage of the warmer days (that were few and far between!) with runs in Central Park. We even managed to stumble across the hidden treasure of Belvedere Castle during one of our post-Reservoir Run cool-downs.

On the cooler days, we hit the ground running with high intensity workouts at the Fhitting Room with inspirational instructors Eric Salvador and Amanda Butler. Just the burpee warm-up was enough to get us sweating!

And to prevent our muscles feeling sore from all the squats, lunges and rowing, we mixed up our workouts with a multitude of yoga classes at Pure Yoga. Our favourite? Hot Power, for sure! The room wasn’t the only thing heating up as we stretched it out to good beats, with good vibes.

Throughout the Roadshow, it seemed there was always another great workout to try, but it wasn't all deadlifts and downward dogs, we made time to explore as well! From visiting the Met for art and people-watching to cycling the Central Park Loop, we also enjoyed a few shop stops, juices from Organic Avenue, and far too many macaroons from William Greenberg Desserts.

It's been a great 30 days here in the Upper East Side - and we will most certainly be back!

Windsor Waves Goodbye To The Roadshow /blog/windsor-waves-goodbye-to-the-roadshow/ /blog/windsor-waves-goodbye-to-the-roadshow/#comments Thu, 13 Mar 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/windsor-waves-goodbye-to-the-roadshow/ As we roll up our yoga mats and prepare for our final plank, the Roadshow says goodbye to Windsor and a big thank you for your varied classes, beautiful greenery and indulgent cream scones!

We have seen Windsor through the floods, wind, rain and finally the sunshine, and what a beautiful place it is when the sun comes out! There is so much to see and explore; from a march around the castle and stroll along the Thames (with the Queen's swans for company!), to a horse ride around Saville Garden and run down the Long Walk.

Powmak Pilates on the Marina has definitely kept us moving, with every session being varied and challenging. Although Pilates seems to be the big trend in Windsor, we have also enjoyed some fantastic yoga at Yoga for Harmony.

But it hasn’t all been mat-based and reformer moves this month! We've raised the roof (and our heartrates) at the Windsor Club - spinning with some funky dance moves, taught by the super fit Verna. Strong Vibes also tested our muscles and hearts as we worked out on the Power Plate.

There is a lot to offer outside of Windsor itself too: Ascot has a great gym with a hot yoga studio called The Fitness Space, and there are beautiful hotels with health and fitness galore in areas such as Wentworth and Runnymede. Personal trainers and classes run from people's homes are also popular too.

Buggy Fit is filled with another fantastic group of women, all possessing similar beliefs to Sweaty Betty: empowerment through fitness. How lucky they are to have this beautiful outside space in Saville Garden and Virginia Water to run, skip and jump around whilst chattering their worries away together.

Thank goodness there are so many options to keep the Windsor women trim and on their toes because the area has a fantastic social scene too. Gogos on Windsor Racecourse Marina is a great place to stop off after a hard session next door at Powmak. If you can’t get away this summer, just head here - we felt like we were in the Hamptons! The Fox & Hound is another great place when you’re hungry or thirsty after whizzing round the park. Even better, ride there and tie your horse up outside - they can fill up on the hay provided while you treat yourself to something off the delicious menu. As I mentioned before, there are lots of amazing cream scones, fudge and ice cream shops to be found around the castle gates - it’s worth the long walk just to build up your appetite!

Windsor Welcomes The Roadshow /blog/windsor-welcomes-the-roadshow/ /blog/windsor-welcomes-the-roadshow/#comments Tue, 25 Feb 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/windsor-welcomes-the-roadshow/ It's only been two days since the Roadshow arrived in Windsor, and we are already impressed with the women and their workouts. The picturesque royal town is full of fitness-loving females enjoying yoga, bootcamp and sun-lit runs along the Thames.

With so much inspiration and an abundance of great workout locations, studios and fitness trainers to check out in the area, we are excited to get started!

Our day today begins with a spin class at The Windsor Club, where we're hoping to shake off the morning cobwebs with Verna, our recommended instructor. Throughout the rest of this week, we'll be heading to classes at Yoga Harmony in central Windsor, Hot Yoga at The Fitness Space in nearby royal Ascot, and reformer Pilates at Powmak Pilates; a particularly special studio looking out over the Windsor marina. With such a beautiful view, I'm sure we'll be spending a lot of time here!

Make sure you stop by Five Star Health & Fitness on the evening of Tuesday 25th Feb, where we'll be giving out goodie bags, or come and join us on Wednesday morning - we'll be shaking it out on the powerplates at Strong Vibes.

We're hoping the weather will hold out so we can get out and about in the famous Windsor Great Park for running clubs and bootcamps too.

Keep an eye out for daily updates on the Roadshow Facebook page - we'll be sharing details of where we're heading next with goodie bags. See you in Windsor!

Leaving Leeds: The Roadshow Team Says Goodbye! /blog/leaving-leeds-the-roadshow-team-says-goodbye/ /blog/leaving-leeds-the-roadshow-team-says-goodbye/#comments Fri, 14 Feb 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/leaving-leeds-the-roadshow-team-says-goodbye/ It is breaking our Roadshow hearts that our time in Leeds has come to an end. This vibrant city not only met our expectations, but exceeded them. From local recommendations on where to find the perfect coffee to tips on unparalleled workouts, we were never short of suggestions.

Always greeting us with a friendly smile, it was refreshing to meet strangers who were more than willing to point us in the right direction, even walking us to our destination at times. We affectionately named this the “Leeds Spirit”.

Everywhere we went, we were welcomed with open arms, especially when it came to working hard during classes. We pushed our muscles to the max in Body Pump at The Edge, embraced our burning legs with the Veggie Runners and found our centre at Yoga Kula; all of which we could not have done without new friends inspiring us along the way. Even our runs by the Canal were filled with “hi there’s” or better yet, gentle warnings of “watch for the muddy patches ahead!”

Leaving is never easy, but it was made easier knowing that this will not be our last visit to Leeds - we've met too many inspirational women to say goodbye for good. We look forward to Roadshows to come, but know that this was a special one for us. A big thank you to our friends in Leeds for being so welcoming and an even bigger thank you for pushing us harder than we thought was physically possible. Until next time Leeds - ta ta for now!

The Roadshow team hits the Upper East Side! /blog/the-roadshow-team-hits-the-upper-east-side/ /blog/the-roadshow-team-hits-the-upper-east-side/#comments Fri, 07 Feb 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/the-roadshow-team-hits-the-upper-east-side/ The US Sweaty Betty Roadshow team has found their way uptown and landed in the stylish and fitness-focused Upper East Side of NYC. As if jumping over piles of snow isn’t enough of a workout, we have our hands full with the heaps of boutique yoga, cross fit, and spin studios.

With the polar vortex in full force, hot yoga has been at the top of our agenda. We’ve been squeezing into the hot power classes at Pure Yoga and New York Yoga, and have plans to jump on the bikes at Soul Cycle, and squat it out at Exceed and the HIIT-focused Fhitting Room studio.

As if that wasn’t enough, we plan to increase our cardio by power-walking up and down Madison Avenue, taking in all the fabulous high retail and niche boutiques on our way. A mid-afternoon macaroon from Laduree will obviously be on the walk, but hey, we need something to burn off!

We hope to see you Upper East Siders joining us for classes and out and about in the city. Feel free to come over and say Hi if you see us, particularly if you've got any tips or recommendations for the best studios in the area.

The Leeds Roadshow Has Arrived /blog/the-leeds-roadshow-has-arrived/ /blog/the-leeds-roadshow-has-arrived/#comments Thu, 23 Jan 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/the-leeds-roadshow-has-arrived/
The Roadshow team has landed in Leeds and already, the city has stolen our hearts! The magnificent shopping destination situated in the heart of West Yorkshire creates an ideal backdrop for fitness and fashion to unite, making it the perfect location for Sweaty Betty.

After just one week in the city, we've been running with the Veggie Runners, stretching it out with Yoga Hero and pushing our muscles to the max with local fitness experts. The Roadshow team have also spent time enjoying getting to meet fellow workout fanatics in the area. Not to mention taking advantage of having the famous Harvey Nichols at arm's reach for some post-workout retail therapy!

With all the amazing fitness-loving women in Leeds, it's safe to say we are never short of motivation. From local running clubs to devoted yogis to Ironmen (and Ironwomen) in training, we have been so inspired by the people of Leeds that we can’t wait to see what the next month holds for the Roadshow.

With too many great workouts ahead of us to count on one hand, we hope to see you Leeds locals joining us for classes and out and about in the city. Feel free to come over and say Hi if you see us, particularly if you've got any tips or recommendations for the best studios in the area.

And then there was Greenwich... /blog/and-then-there-was-greenwich/ /blog/and-then-there-was-greenwich/#comments Tue, 10 Dec 2013 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/and-then-there-was-greenwich/

Surprisingly, the biggest challenge proved to be limiting ourselves to trying just one workout a day. With so many classes to choose from, our decisions soon became based on which muscles weren’t feeling sore from the previous day’s workout! Some of the toughest we tried were definitely Ashley’s Pure Barre class at Pure Barre Greenwich, and SLT Megaformer in Rye Brook. It goes without saying that Conor’s Soul Cycle would give your thighs a burn that lasted for days too.

But for every muscle burning class, we made sure we took advantage of stretching it out with Thais or Kristen’s Pilates class at Core Pilates, or on the mat at Kaia Yoga. When our bodies called for both power and stretch, we went to Peggy’s hot power session at The Water Club.

And if it sounds like all we did was workout, you would be right, had it not been for the yummy treats we used to fuel up! Green & Tonic was our “go-to” for the Ultimate Warrior shake, and was definitely one of the best green smoothies we’ve ever tried. We also tucked into power foods like the specialty crepes from Meli Melo and customised salads from Leafline, and a little crumb cake from CFCF didn’t hurt either! As for NYC's most famed tourist pastime, trust us when we say you will definitely require the stamina gained from working out, and the energy from these fuel foods in order to survive a day of shopping on “The Ave.” Filled with cute boutiques for all occasions, The Avenue offers a retail selection spanning home goods, specialty items and fashion (including that must-have ‘wow’ dress!)

Even though we were sad to wave goodbye to the Roadshow, we are so happy to be a part of the Greenwich community and look forward to more food, shopping and of course, new workouts!]]>

The US Roadshow says goodbye to SoHo /blog/the-us-roadshow-says-goodbye-to-soho/ /blog/the-us-roadshow-says-goodbye-to-soho/#comments Tue, 29 Oct 2013 00:00:00 +0000 Roadshow /blog/the-us-roadshow-says-goodbye-to-soho/ Following the August opening of the first Sweaty Betty US boutique on Mercer Street, the SoHo Roadshow spent a month in the neighbourhood practising what we preach and spreading the word.

We’ve fallen for the studios and the fitness lifestyle here. We’re fans of the mid-day Bari class with what feels like a room full of Broadway dancers. When we’re not running down Mercer Street for a cardio fix, you’ll find us on the Megaformer at SLT. And when we’re in the mood for a more low key, yet “abtastic” work out, we take up Pilates at Le Petit Studio. We've also learned that nothing stretches out an aching body more than a nighttime fix at YogaWorks.

We’ve discovered that the best healer of sore muscles is City Bakery’s Café au lait and Ginger Cookies from Ground Support. The Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cupcake from Georgetown Cupcakes or the “Hawaiian Healer” from Juice Press are a close second.

We have plenty more workouts planned and treats to taste. Let us know about any studios we shouldn’t miss…email jen@sweatybetty.com or leave us a note below with your favourite community Instructors. You never know when one of them might be a Guest Instructor at one of our Club Classes!

And if you missed us this month in SoHo, you can find us in Greenwich, CT in November. Check out the Roadshow schedule for our upcoming classes and events!
