Yoga Pose of the Week (Week 2)
Warrior 2 pose
The picture below shows me practicing Warrior 2 pose in the Maldives. This pose is great for calming the mind, allowing you to calm and centre and it will build both upper and lower body strength. It is an excellent standing pose if you find it difficult to do floor poses or you want to have a stretch and you haven't got a mat handy. You will find with regular practice the stamina in your arms and legs improves and you feel much clearer in the mind. Have a go at the pose and hold for 6 breaths or more on each side. If you have knee or hip problems exercise with caution. This pose is particularly good for pregnancy as it brings a sense of strength and confidence.
