Nobody wants sweaty workout hair, which is why we’ve enlisted Duck & Dry – creators of London’s finest blow dries and braids to transform your hair at our new flagship No.1 Carnaby. A blow dry bar on a mission to transform your hair in a fun atmosphere
The brainchild of former management consultant Yulia Rorstrom, Duck & Dry @ No.1 Carnaby is on hand to ensure you can walk out in half an hour with sleek hair from our exclusive menu. We caught up with Yulia to talk all things hair, yoga and cocktails.

Describe Duck & Dry in three words?

Cool, bold and fun.
What inspired you to open Duck & Dry?

While travelling, I loved the buzz of the blow dey bars in the US and Japan, which had an atmosphere you couldn't find in the typical UK salon. So I wanted to create a destination that’s all about quality styling in a fun and beautiful environment, where blow dries can become part of your regular beauty regime.
What’s your favourite style on the menu at No. 1 Carnaby?

I love the ‘Hot Off The Tong’ blow dry look with soft and loose waves.
Any tips for post-sweaty gym hair?

From our No.1 Carnaby menu, I’d go for the ’Gym to Gin’ braids. Otherwise lots of dry shampoo and a top knot. I love our Dry Volume & Texture Spray which gives that fresh and undone look in an instant.
Top tip for haircare?

Regular trims and treatments will help keep the hair healthy and hydrated.
Tell us about your range of products?

I wanted to bottle the Duck & Dry experience and create a capsule range of hair care and styling solutions that are easy to use and help to achieve a professional blow dry at home. The result is a product line with serious credentials but injected with a sense of fun and style. Our products are produced in Somerset and I like to be very hands on with the development and testing process.
Your favourite way to relax?

I love a long bubble bath with lots of candles and bath oils.
Yoga, Pilates or HIIT?

Yoga helps to take my mind off work and delivers real results to the body in terms of strengthening and flexibility.
Green juice or cocktail?

I enjoy a good cocktail but it has to be well executed and perfectly balanced.
