And I won't. It has been almost a week since I fell on the trampoline. As I am part of the World Class Programme I was lucky enough to have access to an MRI scan which I had on my knee last Friday. The result was not great and I will spend the next two weeks on crutches with no weight baring on my knee. I have had nothing but total support from my team who are committed to working with me to help me back to full fitness asap. This team is not just the professionals but includes my family and fantastic friends also. I have already started with the training I can do- upper body, core, hydrotherapy... there is so much I can work on and I can utilise this time to get stronger in those areas. It is so hard to stay positive all of the time when I feel absolutely gutted and very frustrated but I have learnt that it is ok to have those feelings and thoughts (I think I would be worried if I didn't!) the important part is being pro active with the recovery process and not dwelling on what has happened and why. Finding ways around the obstacles. "If you can't climb the wall...build a door".
"Our greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising everytime we fall"
I will rise. I believe in my dream and I believe in my ability and I know (and hope!!) that I will be back to full training very soon! The hard work continues!!
Please get in touch if you have been out of training because of an injury. Maybe you have some good ideas about what helped you.
