The Statement Dance line, designed in collaboration with English National Ballet, epitomises the importance of style and performance in a woman's workout wardrobe. It brings together the worlds of strength and femininity, power and grace as shown so clearly in the ballet.
A soft, muted colour palette provides a feminine take, with shots of fluoro adding some power into the mix. Technical fabrics such as Sensitive are used as are oversized knits - perfect to cocoon the body after practice.
When Sweaty Betty designer, Julia, came up with the idea of making a special edition printed tee featuring an illustration of a ballerina's feet en pointe, ENB emphasised the importance of using one of their own dancers for true authenticity. We learnt, when it comes to ballet dancers, that their feet are individually recognisable in the simplest of positions en pointe. The bone structure and exceptionally high arches as a result of all that pointe work are a real give away. And so the En Pointe T-Shirt was made - a genuine, perfectly professional and personal homage to the outstanding skills of the ENB dancers.

This Spring we really raised the 'barre' with our Get Fit 4 Free campaign. Meet Me At The Barre, in association with London's premier barre fusion workout studio Barrecore, took over free weekly clubs in store for a whole month. The Mission: Swimwear that can withstand any test in the water
Fit kit that's tried and tested by professionals has never been truer than in relation to Sweaty Betty's SS13 Swimwear Collection.
Not only was every piece modelled by professional athlete Zara Dampney before they even landed on shoot in the Balearics, each swimsuit had been put through its paces in the pool. Racking up over 900 lengths in testing time, our swimwear trialers ranged from weekend surf addicts and daily water babies to our very own triathlete in training, Sweaty Betty founder Tamara. Priorities included checking for a secure fit when diving into the pool, slipping off a wetsuit; ensuring seams were comfortable even after 80 Olympic lengths and testing shape and fit after an outdoor swim and 40 degree wash. Feedback was compiled by our garment tech team. Hours were spent pinning, re-fitting and sample testing and after 25 weeks of development we were finally ready to deliver this season's swimwear line.
