Chocolate and running!

Too much overindulgence equals signing up for a 10k run!
I’m feeling a bit sick. No, I haven’t just got back from a seriously intense workout. Instead, I have been completing my aim for the day – to polish off all my Easter eggs before tomorrow.
Why do this to myself? Well, I’ve had a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend with lots of sunshine and socialising, but now it’s time to draw a line under all the overindulging. Because the thing is, it’s not just been this weekend, but actually the last month that I’ve been making a pig of myself.
I’ve been enjoying my new-found freedom a bit too much since becoming single (no, not like that!), meeting up with friends, eating too many convenience meals like yummy pasta from M&S, and drinking way too much alcohol.
Amazingly, I haven’t gained even a single pound of my hard-won weight-loss, but I have plateaued. And with a week’s sunshine holiday in June looming fast, it’s time to take radical action to get bikini-ready.

So, I’ve signed up for a 10k run. Eeek!! Firstly, let me explain that I don’t run and I never have. I written about it lots with guides to running for beginners, but I’ve never practiced what I’ve preached. And I’ve never, ever taken part in any kind of event before – even walking a fun-run route.
So, wish me luck! And come back for running tips and strategies for preparing for running events. Oh, and wish me luck for finishing my very last Easter egg!
