From the age of three I wanted to be a Broadway showgirl. My dream became true when I was plucked from high school aged 17, to perform in the musical Grease. I was the youngest member of the cast and for eight years I performed all over the world. Between shows I would work in bars, but I started replacing night shifts with teaching fitness classes and it turned my world around. Two years later I decided to become a full-time fitness instructor, and today I teach at The Bari Studio in Tribeca, Barry's Bootcamp and Cyc Fitness in NYC.

Alongside my best friend, I am also launching the Brave Body Project - an online community for people who share a passion for feeling strong, eating well and being bold. With 24/7 access to trainers, informative blogs and an active community, we are developing a place for people who love working out but also love pizza and are happy to have curves. I am all too familiar with injury and that's made me slow down, step back and look up - something I want to inspire others to do by listening to their bodies and making the right choices for them.

Power Song: Keep Your Head Up - Andy Grammar
Personal Best: When I am in a complete state of flow, being mindful and able to live in the moment
Favourite Yoga Pose: Savasana (Corpse Pose). Truth be told, I’m working on being a better yogi!

I spent much of my childhood dancing for a semi-professional youth ballet company and went on to study dance at university then perform and tour with contemporary ballet companies. In 2009 I made the full-time transition into the fitness industry, qualifying as a personal trainer. My first role was with Equinox, where I progressed to fitness manager and first learned the art of calisthenics. After a difficult back injury, I turned away from heavy weights and pursued my love for natural movement.

I'm now based at ModelFIT in NYC and run my own fitness brand called Couples Calisthenics. I teach functional training at ModelFIT and specifically teach partner-based calisthenics at Couples Calisthenics. Partner-based training is so inspiring because people really lighten up, put their phones away and focus on being present during their workout.

Power Song: Changes - Faul & Wad Ad
Personal Best: Kettlebell Turkish Get-Up with 32kg
Favourite Yoga Pose: Parsva Bakasana (Side Crow)
Next Big Challenge: Restoring my normal, pain-free function after a back injury
