You must do the thing which you think you cannot do
'You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do'.
Sorry for my lack of blogs recently!! I'm back!
Well what a week! I always knew this journey would be hard, but I never expected it to be quite as emotional as it has been so far! Last week I went to the World Cup in Poland. Preparation for the comp has been tough with time restraints in training whilst my body adapts to it again after the injury. I knew before I came to Poland that realistically I would not be on top form but wanted the experience to get me back in competition mode so that by Nationals I am ready with one comp under my belt. Although my main aim was to use this comp for experience and to practice my 'competition head', when it came to it, it was much tougher than that! The competitive part of me just did not want to accept that I was not on top form! In hindsight maybe this competition was too soon and I perhaps should have waited until I was more physically ready but it was definitely a good test to deal with it. I competed a below average first routine and unfortunately did not complete my second. I have come away with so many positives though. I need ato build back my confidence which will certainly help my training! There is a lot of work to do but I am up for it and look forward to (heopfully!) writing about my next successful competition!
