Windsor Waves Goodbye To The Roadshow

As we roll up our yoga mats and prepare for our final plank, the Roadshow says goodbye to Windsor and a big thank you for your varied classes, beautiful greenery and indulgent cream scones!

We have seen Windsor through the floods, wind, rain and finally the sunshine, and what a beautiful place it is when the sun comes out! There is so much to see and explore; from a march around the castle and stroll along the Thames (with the Queen's swans for company!), to a horse ride around Saville Garden and run down the Long Walk.

Powmak Pilates on the Marina has definitely kept us moving, with every session being varied and challenging. Although Pilates seems to be the big trend in Windsor, we have also enjoyed some fantastic yoga at Yoga for Harmony.

But it hasn’t all been mat-based and reformer moves this month! We've raised the roof (and our heartrates) at the Windsor Club - spinning with some funky dance moves, taught by the super fit Verna. Strong Vibes also tested our muscles and hearts as we worked out on the Power Plate.

There is a lot to offer outside of Windsor itself too: Ascot has a great gym with a hot yoga studio called The Fitness Space, and there are beautiful hotels with health and fitness galore in areas such as Wentworth and Runnymede. Personal trainers and classes run from people's homes are also popular too.

Buggy Fit is filled with another fantastic group of women, all possessing similar beliefs to Sweaty Betty: empowerment through fitness. How lucky they are to have this beautiful outside space in Saville Garden and Virginia Water to run, skip and jump around whilst chattering their worries away together.

Thank goodness there are so many options to keep the Windsor women trim and on their toes because the area has a fantastic social scene too. Gogos on Windsor Racecourse Marina is a great place to stop off after a hard session next door at Powmak. If you can’t get away this summer, just head here - we felt like we were in the Hamptons! The Fox & Hound is another great place when you’re hungry or thirsty after whizzing round the park. Even better, ride there and tie your horse up outside - they can fill up on the hay provided while you treat yourself to something off the delicious menu. As I mentioned before, there are lots of amazing cream scones, fudge and ice cream shops to be found around the castle gates - it’s worth the long walk just to build up your appetite!
