Where We're Training This Week: The Model Method

posted on Thursday, 22nd May 2014 | find under Tamara, Fashion , Nutrition
This week, the Sweaty Betty marketing department took their training to Absolute Pilates in London's Fulham. Led by Sweaty Betty Ambassador and the studio's Head Trainer Hollie Grant, the team took to the reformer beds to try out her much-hyped workout technique, The Model Method.

An innovative, results-driven workout that combines interval cardio sets with body-sculpting moves on the reformer bed, Hollie is one of the best task-masters on London's fitness scene, and quickly has us working up a sweat. Moving planks on the reformer bed, side clams with resistance, shoulder presses with weights and jumps up onto the reformer (harder than it sounds when being done towards the end of the session when your legs feel like jelly!) were just a few of the moves that had us all desperate for the 'Final 5 seconds!' shout to come.

Somewhat masochistically, the entire team came out saying how much we'd enjoyed the class, competitively comparing what weights we'd lifted and how much we expected to ache the following morning. We'll definitely be back.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Perfect for Pilates, the seamless and supportive Niyama Vest has a streamlined racerback for a greater range of movement when lifting weights and lowering them out into crucifix. Paired with the bright and colourful Chandrasana Capris, their body-sculpting fit, anti-chafe seams and 100% opacity ensure the ultimate in comfort and confidence. Both pieces of this beautiful summery look are crafted in high-stretch, sweat-wicking fabric, ideal for Hollie's cardio class.
