Nestled in the heart of central London a stone's throw from celebrity favourite Chiltern Firehouse, a new studio is gaining serious buzz. Welcome to Sweat by BXR, the new boutique boxing gym, aka your gateway to a supermodel workout.

What is it?

If one gym is drawing the attention of celebrities and fitness fans alike at the moment, it has to be BXR. Described as a mixture between boxing and working out like a Victoria's Secret angel, you'll find a state of the art private boxing gym upstairs and a pay-as-you-train studio down below. Launched by boxer Anthony Joshua, and founded by models Sara Sampaio and Maryna Linchuk, alongside DJ Mark Ronson, this is one seriously luxe place to workout.

What's it like?

State of the art. Every single detail is thought through here; from beautifully decorated changing rooms with selfie mirrors, to motivational neon signs, flattering lighting and the best technical equipment you can find.

If the exclusive membership package (starting from £1,800 a year) isn't quite in your budget, then Sweat by BXR, the pay-as-you-train package may be more up your street. Offering three distinctive classes with their own custom designed studios. These focus on building skills, strength and technique, and can we add they're tough - there's no way you’re walking out the door sweat-free.

What are these classes?

Skills

If Anthony Joshua endorses your gym, it's hardly a surprise the offer a kickass boxing workout. Skills offers a blast of high-intensity training using a variety of drills including; jab, hook and cross and upper cut punch combinations.

Strength + Conditioning

With a focus on getting you stronger and fitter, this slower paced class designed by Anthony Joshua's coach, Jamie Reynolds aims to increase strength, mobility and endurance. 

Cardio

The UK's first ever Versaclimber class is guaranteed to make you sweat, burn more calories than running and leave you without any aches the next day. This 75-degree vertical beam has handles and foot pedals that you push and pull to replicate climbing; it may be low-impact but it's seriously effective. 

What should we try?

If you can only try one class it has to be the Versaclimber. A favourite in LA, this is a full body, low-impact workout that allows the body to burn calories without stressing it out. Plus, it's not on offer anywhere else in London. 

Why do we love it?

Not only are the interiors so beautiful you may never want to leave, BXR is all about those little extras. From a sauna in the changing rooms to in-house sports therapists, they have everyone covered. Plus, every trainer has been handpicked to ensure they are the best. You'll find everyone London’s most respected boxing coaches, ex-champion boxers, professional fighters, strength & conditioning coaches and mind-set mentors.

Anything else?

If you want to refuel post class you don't have to go far, there's an on-site Joe and the Juice Bar serving protein shakes, fresh juices and snacks to keep you going.

Justin Gelband, New York’s very own ‘model whisperer’ and celebrity trainer extraordinaire is making BXR his London residence for 2 weeks this summer. From June 20 - July 10 you'll find the trainer behind Karlie Kloss and Miranda Kerr's bodies, in-house honing and toning London's finest.
