Top 5 Glittery Girlie Gifts

posted on Friday, 18th December 2009 | find under

HO ho ho,
We've only a week to go,
'Til jingle bells, roast turkey smells,
And carolling in the snow!

Inspired don't you think?!

As twinkly lights go up all around, the cards are sent, mince pies have been baked, present wrapping gets underway and supermarkets everywhere brace themselves for the annual run on brussel sprouts, it may finally be time for the significant others in our lives to start thinking about their Christmas shopping!Kiss

With this in mind, I have compiled a handy list of my top five favourite sparkly stocking fillers this Christmas. After all, we've worked hard on those beautiful fit bodies this year, and never girls to be shrinking violets, it's time to shine with a little festive sparkle.

Perhaps you could accidentally hit the 'share' button and email it to someone, or casually leave this page open! Here it is sparkly Betties:

1. Jessica Hologram Top Coat (£9.50) for stockists call 0845 217 1360

When I saw this in the gym I booked in for a manicure straight away in order that I might sport neat black talons with a sparkly finish (just like the night sky) especially for my carol service last week. The lovely Lauren at Virgin Active, Bank did mine (0207 065 5550).

2. Bobbi Brown Metallic Longwear Cream Shadow (£16) for stockists call 08700342566 or visit www.bobbibrown.co.uk

I must confess that when buying one of these for my friend for her birthday, an extra one accidentally slipped onto my credit card.  Finally, a sparkly shadow that stays, doesn't flake into your contact lenses and looks just fabulous.

3. Sweaty Betty Sparkly Socks (£5)

I've been wearing these in all my classes for a little festive cheer.  If you've yet to try SB socks (seriously?), buy these!  I had to buy up loads of pairs for my mum last year because they were the only socks she's ever found that didn't slip off inside her trainers (bless)!  Bought a pair for my local coffee shop lady too as a crimbo treat - she always looks so cold and yet is always so cheery.

4. A Sparkly Frock

Yes girls. Yes. Do it. You know you want to. Dress those fabulous curves with sequins. French Connection, Whistles, ASOS, Oasis, they're all fabulous.

So if you're feeling benevolent ...

Did I mention it's my birthday on Christmas Eve?

5. Diamonds are forever ... forever ... forever

Huge, teeny or just pretend ones, they all say, "I love you".  Functional, practical gifts are great but we can't help but like the just plain pretty stuff a little bit more!

Just a word of warning though ... think carefully before wearing all of the above together unless you have tickets to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
