posted on Thursday, 10th March 2016 | find under Tamara, Fashion
As a brand that never compromises on technical performance or style, the twice annual global fashion shows are always on the radar of Sweaty Betty’s Founder and Creative Director Tamara. With athleisure the current buzzword in fashion circles, it is no surprise that the runways were filled with an array of inspiring Sports Luxe looks. Here are her top shows.

Lacoste

Felipe Oliveira Baptista combined athletic silhouettes with a contemporary aesthetic for Lacoste’s new collection. Draped track pants, oversized parkas, chunky knits and a cutting-edge velour tracksuit were designed for instant cool. For a similar relaxed pant try the Sono Luxe Trousers.

Stella McCartney

A celebration of elevated streetwear fused with feminine details, Stella McCartney’s range of burnt hues, oversized sweater dresses and cropped bombers really stood out. Leaving no doubt that the puffa jacket is set to make a serious comeback for AW16, quilting featured on shorts, coats and more.

Balenciaga

Hailed as the man who has bought casual wear to the next level, for his debut Balenciaga collection Vetements designer Demna Gvasalia combined streetwear silhouettes with the house’s couture heritage. Opera coats became sports jackets, knits oversized and trousers slouchy for a contemporary update. Get the look with the Resto Luxe Jumper

Rag & Bone

AW16 was the season to go faster for the British designers at Rag & Bone. Oversized football shirts, loose silk track pants, slouchy sweatshirts, chunky hoodies (set to be the piece for AW16) and oversized parkas added an urban sensibility to high-fashion silhouettes.

An achingly edgy celebration of sportswear, the former DKNY designers gave traditional sweat materials a fashionable update. Fleece was reimagined in olive green with cool edge wear, shapes were oversized and bomber jackets created the ultimate urban warrior look.
