Nell McAndrew talks PBs and PMA

We grabbed a quick 5 minutes with Nell post Guest Instructor workout to find out what makes her tick.
 
Q: What’s your favourite way to workout?
A: Hard! I always like to feel like I have made good use of my time and push myself.
 
Q: How did you manage to run the London Marathon in sub 3 hours?
A: Hard work, being more organised, sheer determination! I had a plan to follow which really helped. I just took one day at a time, ticking each run off as the week progressed.
 
Q: Sum up the feeling of achieving that PB in three words?
A: Emotional, ecstatic, relieved!
 
Q: Any tips for beginners how to get started with running?
A: Just do it, the more time you think about it the more chance you will talk yourself out of it. Join a running group to help with motivation.
 
Q: Favourite motivational workout quote?
A: Have PMA positive mental attitude. Believe in yourelf.
 
Q: What do you do to escape the world and relax?
A: Go for a run. It makes me feel so much happier, more relaxed, more confident, more energised, de-stressed, it makes me feel alive!
 
Q: What’s the next big challenge? An ultra-marathon?!
A: I know they are all the rage but I am happy sticking with the marathon and shorter distances. I will be doing the Great North Run (half marathon) for Cancer Research UK in September. It would be nice to dip under 1 hr 25 mins as that was my time at the same event last year. Plus my new fitness DVD will be coming out later this year too, so lots of exercise which I love!
