It's all about your plan!

So Betties, I thought I would share with you my top training tip. It's all about having a plan...

What could be more motivating than planning your journey to reach your outcome goal?
I have a plan for all areas of my training- strength and conditioning, trampolining, nutrition and I know exactly where I am at and where I am going. I found it best to start at the point of where you want to be and plan backward from there. It may sound long winded and complicated- but it doesn't need to be! It can be as detailed as you want it to be. Your plan is specific to you, your training and your goals. If your goal is a weight related one then set yourself a period of time, and try and pan out your own realistic route to reaching that goal.

The best thing about having a plan is that it really is just a plan. What I mean is that plans can be changed, they are there as a guide and devised to help you- but sometimes things happen which are out of your control and you might find yourself behind where you thought you would be. You can mix it up if you are finding it tedious but try to have a focus on each of your sessions, it might help you!

I have to admit, I am a bit of a plan freak!! I work best with structure and when I can see what is next. I find it hard to train when I don't have a rough plan for the next part of my training. I have a weekly, monthly and annual plan and I find it a real motivator because I do not stop once I have achieved my first target- I look at what my next target is and work for that.

When you feel prepared for your work out you will probably get more out of it. To be prepared you need to be fuelled up to train, an idea of what your session will entail and perhaps a time limit so you don't go all out on the first session!

I know this might not work for some of you but I think its worth a try! Go on, set yourself a realistic target to reach by 12th Feb and work out your plan to get there!
