Bristol Betties complete 10k with ease

posted on Friday, 20th May 2011 | find under

The gorgeous ladies and rather handsome men (we grow them strong around these parts!) of Bristol took to the roads last Sunday morning for the Bristol 10k and our Betties were out in full force! Along our run club ladies, Izzy, Tash, Sarah and Liz from the Bristol Boutique team were up bright and early (Izzy and Tash stuffed with jelly babies) and in the running spirit along with 10, 000 other runners.

I had the pleasure of watching all the girls set off and felt immensely proud to cheer them on (looking and sounding every bit like a very loud and proud mother hen). All the girls achieved brilliant times – including Izzy who didn’t even look puffed with a brilliant time of 47:58! - and whooped all the boys we knew running as well!  Tash (53:41) and Sarah were both running their first ever 10k race and Liz* (01:01:51) rather impressively ran with a cardboard bike attached to her, a bucket in hand and a helmet!

Massive congratulations to all our girls and Bristol ladies for getting up, getting those trainers on, running like the wind and taking part in something they can all feel immensely proud of.

Here’s looking forward to the September Bristol half marathon 2011!
