Emily Webley- Smith in Sweaty Betty 'Victory Tennis Dress' at Wimbledon 2011

posted on Wednesday, 22nd June 2011 | find under Fashion

Emily Webley- Smith played out in style in Sweaty Betty's 'Victory Tennis Dress' as she narrowly lost in the first round of the women's singles played at the prestigious Wimbledon Championships 2011.
Awarded a Wildcard into this year's event as a result of her superb form during the first half of 2011, Webley- Smith played some excellent tennis in front of a patriotic crowd on Court 14, but ultimately fell just short against Klara Zakopalova, of the Czech Republic, going down 3-6, 7-5, 6-8.
''I feel immense pride to see a British athlete wearing a British brand at the marquee event of the tennis calendar. Of course it is important to remember that this is Wimbledon’s 125th year so I am delighted that Sweaty Betty was able to be part of its birthday celebrations. Lastly, I feel a great deal of excitement- Emily Webley- Smith is not a sponsored athlete so it means a lot to me that both the designs and technicality of Sweaty Betty activewear is recognised by elite athletes.''
