What happens to your body when you dance?

A dancer's body is both strong and supple, moving with agility and coordination to perform set choreography. By participating in regular dance classes your strength will increase as your muscles work against your body weight as you jump, push and leap through the air. Your muscles will become more flexible as you extend and stretch to perform each movement with a greater range of motion. Your agility and coordination will increase as you move in time to the music and perform increasingly complex sequences of movements. As you strive to perfect the choreography your heart rate will increase, strengthening your cardiovascular fitness and improving your endurance allowing you to dance for longer.

What should I wear?
•   Active wear that allows freedom of movement, so you can perform each movement with precision.
•   Technical fabrics that wick away the sweat and support your muscles

Which fabrics are the best?
The key thing to look for is sweat-wicking fabrics, which literally "wick" the sweat away from your body. The sweat travels through the fabric to the outside of your clothes where it evaporates.
