Candice Kumai, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, TV host, and New York Times best-selling author of the Clean Green cookbooks franchise including Clean Green Eats and Clean Green Drinks, has been described by Elle as the 'golden girl of the wellness world'. As one of America's go-to sources on all things clean eating, her popular Instagram is a constant source of food and fitspiration. If you're not already following her, you may have seen her on screen in the US, cooking her popular recipes or as a health expert on Today, E! and the Food Network. When she's not talking all things wellness, she'll probably be found enjoying avocados, yoga, bar method, coconut or her cat, Sisi.

With a focus on eating real, good-for-you foods, Candice believes 'Food is about nourishment. Roasted Kabocha Squash Salad

This hearty, heartwarming salad is delish as a side dish or even as a full meal. It’s also a great base recipe to experiment with—feel free to swap out the quinoa with another healthy grain, like farro, freekeh, or barley. Sweet Potato + Avocado Bowl with Carrot Ginger Vinaigrette

Describe your morning routine?
I start my morning with a matcha with a touch of unsweetened coconut almond milk and love from my kitty Sisi. I then meditate for 30 minutes, before writing for about two hours on what I'm working on, at the moment this is content for my new book. At 11.30 after a final check of my emails, I leave for a feel good workout at Bar Method.

Your go-to workout and why?

Bar Method, which I practice 4-5 times a week, is the most effective workout for my lifestyle. + It’s not just a workout, it’s both a lifestyle and a community to me, I love the community at the Bar Method Soho that Amy, the owner has cultivated! She always makes me laugh, smile and feel-good! 
I also need to do yoga to chill and feel re-connected to my spirit. Regular yoga helps me to breathe deep and get my blood flowing, I love Kula Yoga in NYC, Exhale in NYC and Core Power Yoga in Encinitas, CA.

Guilty pleasure?  

Chocolate and Peanut Butter and Champagne (at the same time preferably). If that fails, men with tattoos.
